Chief Inquisition Officer
NCC INQUISITIONInquisitor General
Challenge one, and the response comes from righteous fury â the kind that burned heretics for a thousand years.
Field Assessment
Each of the Sprawl's major sectors has one. Answers only to the Synod's Security and Compliance Committee â which meets quarterly, reviews sanitized reports, and rubber-stamps budgets it doesn't understand. When a Chief Inquisition Officer declares "spiritual emergency," every operative falls under direct command, all enforcement is pre-authorized, and proportional response becomes theological rather than operational.
The current officers were promoted during the post-Cascade reorganization â survivors who rebuilt the institution from rubble. They have no patience for threats to what they built. The historical precedent is deliberate: the rank's title is unchanged from the institution the NCC acquired in 2132, and the job description has evolved less than the Church would like to admit.
