Compact geometric solids — tesseracts, octahedra, shapes that mathematics describes but physics shouldn't allow — rendered in sharp violet crystal. Half a meter across at most, but they move with guided-munition precision. Surfaces display rapidly scrolling code — not any language Chen's team recognizes, but recognizably language.
